What it takes to be an Entrepreneur.

Many people want to be an entrepreneur, but what most of them do not understand is that it takes quite a whole lot to be an entrepreneur because of the fact that you do not work for anybody but yourself, you will have to be responsible for every aspect of the business atleast at the initial stage.

It is quite easier to work for someone else where you are told what to do most of the time and even how to do it. But as an Entrepreneur you are responsible for the marketing, production and every aspect of, whether the business fails or succeeds all depends on you.

In this post, i will tell you what it actually takes to be an entrepreneur and to be a successful one at that. These are the DNA of an entrepreneur if you really want to toll that path.

1. Calculated and Logical:

Being an entrepreneur means you have to set your emotions aside especially in decision making. You have to be logical and calculated, bring all the facts together to ensure that your decisions are in line with the goals of the business.

2. Motivated and Focused :

As an entrepreneur No one is going to wake you up, no one is going to motivate you, no one is going to cheer you up, you have to simply do it for yourself and for your goals. Expecting anyone to motivate you means that you are not even inline with your self. At a time your enterprise may not be going as you anticipate or might hit a road block, it is all your job to find other way to steer your course and achieve the goals for which you started at the first place.

3. Confident and Outgoing

Confidence and the ability to build relationships is one of the traits of an entrepreneur, because you can’t do it on your own, so you have to seek productive relationships and convince them to help you to achieve your goals. You have to put yourself out there, you must wake up and show up no matter how you feel.

4. Risk taking and Courageous.

The ability to pursue your dream is a risk on its own, and once you have started you will need all the courage you can monster to keep going. Being an entrepreneur is a lonely journey, that’s why only the risk takers and the courageous excel in it. So take risks and be courageous.

5. Strong Work Ethics:

You will never achieve your goals in life if you work only on the days you feel like. You have to build the discipline to do whatever it takes to achieve your aim. Hard work and a strong work ethic is the main deal. Execution is the real game, you have to execute your your plans for a chance at success. Willingness to outwork everyone in the room increases your chances of success. Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard, you probably must have heard of such a saying.

6. Creative and Innovative:

Creativity and being innovative is what makes you to stand out from the crowd. Find a way to be creative and Innovative with your products, services and even with your employees and your production process, and you will never be out of business.



7. Patient and Perseverance

You should know that nothing good comes easy and that Rome was not built in a day. This is why an entrepreneur must take his time to build something that will endure the test of time especially at the foundation stage of the enterprise. Care must be taken to build a solid foundation for the business which can never be shaken in times of turbulence.

8. Passionate and Determine

People do not buy what you do, they buy why you do what you do. This is where passion and determination comes into play. You must be happy with what you do and most especially why you do what you do. This is where the fire is ignited and once it is ignited it will sustain the momemtum of the business.

9. Making Connections.

Build meaningful connections even with your competitions, employees and influencers. Your connections will speak for you even when you are not available. Connections are neccessary for the survival of your business, build it.

10. Versatile and Agile.

This goes hand in hand with Creativity and Innovation. You must always be willing to learn new information and incorporate it into your business. This allows you to keep progressing and maintain the momentum.
